Gen. Adams Delivers Remarks at House Manufacturing Caucus Panel

By Eric Auner

On July 23rd Guardian Six President Gen. John Adams (U.S. Army, Ret.) appeared on a panel organized by the bipartisan House Manufacturing Caucus. Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) and Representative Tim Ryan (D-OH) introduced the members of the panel, which included Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Elena Broitman, Steven Betza of Lockheed Martin and Dale Smith of Dresser-Rand Company.

Adams spoke about the need for the United States to strengthen the U.S. defense industrial base and strengthen U.S. manufacturing. He also encouraged the audience to consider the ways in which supply chain vulnerabilities can hamper the implementation of U.S. strategy.

This event came a week after Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) sent a letter to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel urging the Department of Defense to crack down on counterfeit parts from offshore suppliers. The letter specifically cited Guardian Six’s research on semiconductors.
